Ready to Enter Korup North

by Mike Loomis
June 27, 2010

After a seven and one-half hour drive, we're finally staging to go into Korup north. Right now we're loading our gear into canoes that we'll use to cross the river. From there, we have a 90-minute hike to our base camp. The weather is cloudy but we are getting a welcome break from the rain. If the crossing and the hike go well, we should be able to get out into the field yet this afternoon. We have two collars with us and I'm hopeful that we'll use them both here in Korup.
